William Maywood Colmer  was a twin. He and his brother, Wilbert Elwood, were the last of 12 children born to Lyman Colmer and Alma Ann Delaine Bosworth.  He married Goldie Cullums May 29, 1901. They had the following children:

1. Garnet Lucille Colmer b.Dec. 7, 1904 in Guysville, OH; d. Nov. 5, 1991 in Okeechobee, Fla.--she married Harry Lyle Smith May 26, 1923 in Athens Co., OH. He was born Apr. 19, 1902 in Pratts Fork, Athens Co., OH and died Nov. 9, 1989 in Trenton, OH. Their children:  Robert William,  Blaine Lee,  Nellie Mae,  Betty Pauline,  James Franklin,   Emerson Lyle (Jake),  Gladys Marie, and Linda Sue.

2. Alvira Marie Colmer (still living) married Frank Burson October 31, 1931.  He was born Dec. 2, 1908 and died March 6, 1997. Their childen:  Fred and Eileen

3. Hazel Merle Colmer born September 6, 1906, and died September 29, 1910.

4. Woodrow Wilson Colmer, born August 13, 1912, died June 14, 1996.  He married Grace Russell  June 9, 1938, in Kentucky.  She was born October 17, 1913.

5. Orien Earl Colmer,  born February 14, 1916,  died March 29, 1999. He married Mary Alice Pugh  November 19, 1935.  She was born  June 10, 1916 and died June 20, 1983.  Their children:  Alice Joanne,  Fern Lee,  Jerry Wright, and Neil Alan.

.A note of interest:

Mary Pugh descends from Ruth Alden, daughter of John and Priscilla Mullins Alden. Orien Colmer descends from Elizabeth Alden, also a daughter of John and Priscilla. This makes them 9th cousins.
